Request for Exterior Paint Color Approval
All exterior paint colors and trims must be pre-approved by the Board of Directors and should be selected from the current color book. After approval from the Board, the owner must submit the Board approval form and the color sample to the City of Scottsdale Historic Preservation Office (7447 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85251) (SHPC) for their approval. The City may require a picture of the house's exterior. See next paragraph for exception to this rule.
Homeowner requests for exterior color changes will be approved immediately without the need for SHPC approval if all colors are on the Board-approved color pallet, but the homeowner must still complete an exterior painting request and obtain approval from the board.
The Board has the approved color book; you can also find a digital copy of this book at "Downloadable Forms" section of the menu (EXTERIOR HOME CHANGES). Since scanned colors can differ slightly from the actual colors, you should always check with the approved color book before making a final selection.
All painting projects to the exterior of the house are required to have a Board approved start and completion date.
